The Phoebus PBM GEVS500A is a highly versatile vertical and horizontal milling machine designed for precision machining in mechanical workshops, toolrooms, and production environments. Thanks to its dual spindle configuration, the machine allows both vertical and horizontal milling operations, offering a very wide range of machining possibilities.

The machine features a vertical inverter-controlled milling head with ±90° right and left inclination, allowing the execution of inclined drilling, milling, and boring operations. In addition, the RAM can rotate 360°, providing maximum flexibility for positioning the milling head and reaching complex machining angles.

Alongside the vertical spindle, the machine is equipped with a horizontal spindle, enabling additional machining operations and expanding the machine’s application range for different types of milling work.

The X and Y axes are driven by ball screws, ensuring smooth movements, improved positioning accuracy, and reduced backlash compared to traditional lead screws. The X, Y, and Z axes are powered by original YASKAWA servomotors and drives, allowing precise axis control and making the Z axis a fully functional working axis.

To ensure long-term reliability and proper operation, the machine includes an automatic centralized lubrication system, which lubricates all sliding components. A coolant tank for chip evacuation is also included to support efficient machining processes.

The machine can be equipped with a quick pneumatic drawbar system for tool clamping on the vertical spindle, improving tool change speed and efficiency. For the horizontal spindle, a similar system is available on request for the GEVS600A model.

For improved stability during prolonged machining operations, an optional hydropneumatic support system for continuous Z-axis use is available across the EVS series.

With 1200 mm travel on the X axis, 540 mm on the Y axis, and 380 mm on the Z axis, the Phoebus PBM GEVS500A provides a generous working envelope suitable for machining medium-sized mechanical components.
