Bed Type Moving Column Milling Boring Machine MTE SB-8000

The MTE SB-8000 is a bed type moving column milling and boring machine designed for machining large and heavy workpieces while maintaining high rigidity, precision, and flexibility. The configuration with fixed bed and moving column ensures stable machining conditions and excellent dynamic performance even during heavy-duty operations.

The machine structure is built in Meehanite cast iron, providing superior vibration damping and long-term dimensional stability. The moving column with lateral RAM slides on linear guideways with preloaded roller packs, ensuring smooth motion, high load capacity, and precise positioning across all axes.

The X-axis longitudinal movement is driven by a gear reducer with double pinion and double motor, guaranteeing powerful and stable movement along the extended travel. The large working table (8000 x 1000 mm) allows the machining of long components and large structural parts.

The machine can be equipped with different automatic milling heads indexed at 2.5°, with spindle speeds of 4,000 or 6,000 rpm, allowing versatile machining operations from multiple angles.

An automatic tool magazine with 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 positions supports horizontal or vertical tool change, enabling efficient tool management for complex machining cycles. The machine also includes rigid tapping with spindle orientation for accurate threading operations.

The electrical cabinet air conditioning system ensures stable operation of electronic components even in demanding industrial environments.

For increased machining flexibility, the machine can be equipped with a 4th axis rotary table, enabling multi-face machining and reducing workpiece repositioning.

Thanks to its large travels and compact layout, the SB-8000 offers high machining capacity while optimizing workshop space.
